Johannes Martin Krenzle was born in Augsburg, Germany. He studied at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts. His repertoire includes the roles of Guglielmo in Mozart’s *Cosi fan tutte*, the Count Almaviva in *The Marriage of Figaro*, and Papageno in *The Magic Flute*, Danilo in Lehár’s *The Merry Widow*, Schaunard in Puccini’s *La Bohème*, Sharpless in Puccini’s *Madama Butterfly*, Figaro in Rossini’s *The Barber of Seville*, and Dandini in *Cenerentola*, among others. A member of the Frankfurt Opera ensemble since 1998, he now not only performs in Italian operas and as a Wagnerian singer but also actively appears in Baroque operas and other genres, earning widespread acclaim. In addition to Frankfurt, he has performed at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich and the Hamburg State Opera. the Vienna Volksoper, the Komische Oper Berlin, the San Francisco Opera, the Salzburg Festival, and the Melbisch Lake Music Festival. In January 2009, he received rave reviews for his portrayal of Eisenstein in *Die Fledermaus* at the New National Theater.
