Aames Classics releases its second "Goltberg for Organ. The popular "Goltberg for Organ" (OC 625) by Hans-Jörg Albrecht was an arrangement and performance that made the most of the organ's special qualities, and this Gunther Rost of course shares that idea, but he also makes use of the work's structure and complex symbolism (Bach = 2+1+3+8 = 14, J.S. Bach = 9+18+41 = 41 [the inverse of 14], Johann Sebastian Bach = 58+86+14 = 158 = 14, etc.), Bach himself was concerned with the number 14. (The number 14 is also reflected in his works, isn't it?) (Rost himself wrote the liner notes for details). Gunter Rost was born in Würzburg in 1974 and studied organ in Paris with Marie-Claire Alain.Rost was awarded prizes at the Leipzig Bach Competition and more than 10 competitions in Dallas, Nuremberg, Hungary, etc. He lectured on organ at the Zircher Conservatory and the Musikhochschule Würzburg until 2002, where he received the Bavarian Art Prize. Since then, he has been a professor at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz and a master class at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory. ［Comments courtesy of Sony Music.]
