A heavy bluesy psychedelic masterpiece with heavy fuzz wah guitar by a legendary band from Champaign-Urbana, Illinois! The Finchley Boys were the first band to perform Boa Constrictor live before Alice Cooper. 1972's self-released Everlasting Tributes was actually a collection of studio tapes recorded between 1968 and 1969. recorded between 1968 and 1969. Starting with covers of British beats, the band quickly moved on to original material such as "Only Me" and "Hooked." By this point, they were a cut above the rest, and by 1967 they began touring full time, and their fateful merger with the popular local band "Somebody Groovy" created the band's definitive lineup.Named after the gang from the Kinks' albums, they became infamous for their frenzied stage shows, psychedelic blues riffs, and extreme performances that included bringing real boa constrictors on stage, as well as the Byrds, B.B. King, Canned Heat, The Byrds, B.B. King, Canned Heat, MC5, Iggy & The Stooges, Faces, and John Mayall, and was hailed as one of the most exciting live acts in the Midwest. Their defining moment of fame was the 1970 Kickapoo Creek Rock Festival. Dubbed "a mini-Woodstock," their explosive performances overwhelmed tens of thousands of fans, and the Chicago Sun-Times called them "the outstanding band of the festival. The band played a rather unorthodox range of music, from blues-rock flavored numbers to vicious psychedelic tunes with rampaging heavy riffs, and they were a great approximation of the Stooges and the MC5.The Kinks' cover of "I'M NOT LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE" is another badass track, and the killer "Outcast" is a prototype of hard rock. Two additional killer tracks that were left out of the original recording are also included.
