Description:
The first leader group formed around Keith Tippett, a famous pianist in the British jazz scene who passed away in 2008, moved to Vertigo in the UK and released their '71 album. In addition to Elton Dean (sax), Nick Evans (trb), and Mark Charig (cornet), who continue to participate from the previous album, the group also includes SOFT MACHINE's Rober Wyatt (drs), Bryan Spring (drs), Phil Howard (drs), Roy Bowie (drs), and Bryan Wyatt (trs). Roy Babbington (double-b/b), Neville Whitehead (double-b), Gary Boyle (g), etc., all of whom represented the British jazz scene at the time.The title track and the rest of the album are filled with more rock energy than the previous album, and the tension-filled performance with tense improvisations and flowing melodies is excellent. The cover art by Roger Dean is also beautiful. The master is a newly remastered recording by Simon Francis based on the original master tapes owned by Vertigo/Universal. Cutting master by Cicely Balston at Abbey Road Studios, UK.
