The third full-length album by PHANTOM, a speed/thrash metal band from Mexico. The album was recorded and mixed with Hector "Northen" Ibarra at Nehtron Studios in Guadalajara, and mastered by Patrick W. Engel at Temple of Disharmony in Germany. Centered on the spirit of old-school heavy metal, this ambitious work represents an evolution toward a sound that is more technical and dynamic than ever before. Right from the opening track, “Hordes Of Bats,” riff-driven, high-speed attacks explode, fully showcasing the appeal of high-octane speed metal. On the other hand, tracks like “Dracula’s Curse” and the title track “Not Midnight Yet” incorporate heavy mid-tempo sections and complex arrangements, adding depth to the album. Furthermore, “The Pale Remains of Time” introduces melodic vocals and clean guitar parts, hinting at subtle progressive elements and showcasing a new side of the band. Their compositional skill shines through, presenting a diverse range of expressions while remaining anchored in raw speed/thrash. This is a substantial release that showcases PHANTOM’s current state, expanding their musical range while maintaining their traditional old-school orientation. The CD includes two bonus tracks.
