Art songs and piano works by Richard Wagner and Giuseppe Verdi—two of the greatest masters—all on one CD! This album, re-recorded in 2013 under the same theme as the 2010 Bayreuth Festival concert “VERDIZUGASTBEIWAGNER!” held at the Wahnfried Hall, juxtaposes works by both composers to celebrate their reconciliation. Mezzo-soprano Tatiana Konrad and pianist Andrea Marie Baiocchi not only express the musical differences between these two incomparable masters but also attempt to bridge the gap between them. Verdi’s “Aflorimo,” included as a bonus track at the end of the album, is a rare piano piece that was only recently discovered in the United States in 2010. Tokyo M Plus
