Description:

Jamsouzou, a talented artist who blends electronic music and jazz, has released his latest work! Like Flying Lotus, RBMA alumnus Michel van Dinther = James Zoo hails from the Netherlands, and was awarded the "John Peel Play More Jazz" award by Giles Peterson. It's been six years since his debut album Fools (2016), which was awarded the "John Peel Play More Jazz" prize by Giles Peterson, and now he releases his latest album Blind on Brainfeeder. The album features longtime songwriting partner and keyboard virtuoso Niels Broos, Swedish bassist Petter Eldh, drummer Richard Spaven, and Julian Sartorius ( Julian Sartorius, and other members from the previous album will participate again. In addition, pianist/organist Kit Downes (ECM), trumpeter Peter Evans, pioneering British saxophonist Evan Parker, a key figure in the European free jazz movement, and label member Julian Sartorius will also be featured on the album. Parker, a pioneering English saxophonist at the heart of the European free jazz movement, and labelmate Oliver Johnson, aka Dorian Concept, as well as many other guests. As in the past, the album further explores the boundaries between jazz and electronic music. The adventurous and experimental spirit of this work was shaped by sessions at Willem Twee Studios, a studio in Den Bosch, the Netherlands, which has a collection of vintage synthesizers. The composer, the soloist, the performers, and the shifting emphasis between them all color what we hear. Is it possible to create something that avoids this? Is it possible to create a project that forces an active, objective listening experience? This work, which began with the question "Is it possible to create a project that forces us to have an active, objective listening experience?" uses an automatic piano to accurately play phrases that cannot be played by the human hand, and is a departure from existing music.
