A 2015 remastered and expanded edition of the 1972 original release “Heresie,” an essential early-1980s album by the Virgin Prunes—Dublin’s most uncompromising post-punk collective—captures the band at their rawest, most ritualistic, and most provocative. Originally released in 1982, this album compiles early, seminal recordings that blur the boundaries between post-punk, industrial, performance art, and gothic experimentation. Characterized by raw rhythms, dissonant soundscapes, and emotionally charged vocals, it presents a sound that helped shape the darker, more extreme corners of the post-punk scene. This new expanded CD edition features a newly remastered version of the original album, plus rare live recordings from the Rex Club in Paris that capture the band’s intensely confrontational performances. It includes a 16-page booklet with new liner notes by Jon Wood. This release offers the definitive version of an album that has long been difficult to find.
