SOUTHERN AVENUE is a five-piece band led by guitarist and band leader Ori Nafataly and powerful lead vocalist Tierinii Jackson, who moved to Memphis from Israel. released their debut album on the prestigious Memphis label STAX RECORDS. With vocals that have a strong gospel and soul feel, bluesy guitars and a groovy sound - combining the power of soul with the freedom of a jam band - they have been consistently creating timeless American music since their debut. Their latest release, "BE THE LOVE YOU WANT," is a collection of their latest songs.Co-produced by Grammy Award-winning producer Steve Berlin (Los Lobos, Jackie Green) and Ori Nafataly, the album is a bold reimagining of the place of the blues band in contemporary American society, drawing on the musical heritage of Memphis.
