The Montreux Jazz Festival is one of the world's largest music festivals with a 55-year history. The "THE MONTREUX YEARS" series unravels rare sound recordings from the vast and rich collection of the late Claude Nobs, the founder of the festival. The second installment of this series, which features historically and musically significant performances by icons who have left their mark on music history, includes a stunning live performance by Marianne Faithfull, a singer with a unique presence who sings the subtleties of life in her magnificent voice. The Montreux Jazz Festival, one of the world's largest music festivals, started in 1967 and is now in its 55th year. The festival has featured many iconic artists who have added color to the history of music, and has produced some of the most memorable performances in history. The collection is called Montreux Sounds and is a vast and valuable collection. Many artists have released their own live albums of these recordings, but the Montreux Sounds are still very valuable and of great historical value, and were recognized by UNESCO in 2013. The Montreux Jazz Festival and BMG have teamed up to launch a series called "THE MONTREUX YEARS" in July this year to explore the vast collection at the Montreux Sounds. The series not only brings legendary performances by world-class artists back to life, but also includes a wealth of rare and previously unreleased recordings from the festival's rich 55-year history, as well as a booklet with newly written liner notes and previously unpublished photos, This series is of great significance in the history of music.Mastering will be handled by Tony Cousins of Metropolis Studios in London. The first two releases, Nina Simone and Etta James, were released in July of this year, and both received very high acclaim. MARIANNE FAITHFULL: THE MONTREUX YEARS" and "MUDDY WATERS: THE MONTREUX YEARS" will be released. Both will be released in 1CD and 2LP formats, and feature a wealth of rare live recordings from their performances at the Montreux Jazz Festival. (1/2)
