The second in a trilogy of tribute albums to his musical heroes, this album celebrates the life and music of Jimmy Reed, a pioneer of Mississippi electric blues and a major influence on Chicago blues. The best bluesy live show at the Royal Albert Hall with special guests Mick Taylor, Bobby Womack and Paul Weller is now available on a 2-LP analog set! Rock guitarist Ronnie Wood has had a spectacular career with the Jeff Beck Group, Faces, and The Rolling Stones. He has now completed a tribute album to his musical hero, singer/guitarist/harpist Jimmy Reed, a pioneer of Mississippi electric blues in the United States. Ronnie Wood, who is not only a guitarist, but also a producer and artist, is currently working on a "trilogy of tribute albums to legendary artists who have greatly influenced him" project. The first release in November 2019 is "MAD LAD: A LIVE TRIBUTE TO CHUCK BERRY," a tribute to the great rock and roll icon Chuck Berry.The live recording, made at the Tivoli Theater in Wimborne Minster, England, with his band HIS WILD FIVE, featured guest appearances by female vocalist Imelda May and pianist Ben Waters. The second part of a trilogy. The second release in the trilogy is "MR LUCK - A TRIBUTE TO JIMMY REED: LIVE AT THE ROYAL ALBERT HALL," recorded at the historic Royal Albert Hall in London, England, on November 1, 2013. The album features 18 of Jimmy Reed's best-known songs, including "Good Lover" and "Ghost Of A Man. Ronnie is backed by the "Ronnie Wood Band," which also includes Mick Taylor as a member. In addition, the album features special guests such as Bobby Womack, Simply Red's Mick Hucknell, and Paul Weller. For a band that loves the Rolling Stones and American blues from that time to this day, Jimmy Reed was one of their biggest influences. It's an honor to have the opportunity to honor his life and the music he left behind with this tribute," says Ronnie, who, following the first Chuck Berry Tribute, has illustrated the album cover for this project. The simple lines are drawn by Jimmy Reed, of course.Ronnie's love and respect for him is reflected in this album, which is filled with great performances by musicians who also love blues and R&B.
