DMA'S, an Australian three-piece band that brings the soul of Brit Pop of yesteryear back to the 21st century, released their own Japan-specific EP in November 2015, followed shortly thereafter by their first Japan tour, as well as an appearance at Fuji Rock in 2016, and they have quickly gained attention here in Japan. They have now completed their third studio album since 2018's "FOR NOW"! The long-awaited third album, "THE GLOW". Produced and mixed down by Stewart Price, known for his work with The Killers and New Order. It was recorded at RAK Studios in London and Westlake Studios in West Hollywood. The melodic and emotional pop-rock sound that was once described as the successor to Oasis has been carried over to this album. The album opens with "Never Before," a rock number that blends attitude, dynamic beats, and alternative pop elements reminiscent of the "Screamadelica" days. The album's title track is followed by an uplifting, energetic melody and a renewed confidence in vocalist Tommy Odell's voice.The restrained verses of "Criminals" give way to a punchy groove, while the wall-of-guitar, trance-like beat, harmonies, and vocoder of "Cobracaine" create a chaotic melting pot of sounds that give a sense of a new and expanded sound. Some of the songs give the impression of a new expansion of the band's sound. This album, "The Glow," is their most accomplished work to date. The lead single from the album, "Silver," was released late last year. As soon as it was released, the song received a great response from fans and the media, especially UK radio, and has become their most popular single to date in terms of streaming plays. The follow-up release, "Life Is A Game Of Changing," is an anthem of melodic guitars and inspiring drums with electronic elements and melancholic vocals. The Australian trio DMA'S, heirs to the soul of Brit-pop, have grown up to become one of the most successful bands in the world, and this album, "THE GLOW," is a testament to their growth.
