This is a major highlight— Naoko Kawamura’s concerto recording is here! Mozart’s melodies, as beautiful as pearls. A live recording of Naoko Kawamura’s concerto has suddenly been released on the COVIELLO label! The piece is Mozart’s Concerto No. 21. While the beautiful second movement is a highlight, the crystalline sound of the outer movements in pure, crystalline C major is also a major draw. The B-side features Mozart’s Bassoon Concerto, recorded live on a different day with the same orchestra. It’s a rather interesting pairing. This is an SACD hybrid disc. Naoko Kawamura boasts an impressive resume, having won second place at the Munich International Competition and first place at the Clara Haskil International Competition, and she is currently based in Germany. She is also highly regarded in Japan, having received the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology’s New Artist Award from the Agency for Cultural Affairs, the Nippon Steel Music Award, the Idemitsu Music Award, the Japan Chopin Society Award, the Iue Cultural Award, and the Hotel Okura Award. In June 2018, at Kioi Hall’s “Beethoven Piano Sonata Project Vol. 1,” she breathed vibrant life into the early sonatas, delivering a magnificent performance that combined meticulous preparation, an outstanding sense of rhythm, and spontaneous freedom at the highest level. Anticipation is also high for his debut recording of Mozart’s concertos. Andrea Ceracchi is a brilliant bassoonist born in Rome in 1997. He has won first prize in numerous competitions and, at the age of 19, earned the position of principal bassoonist with the Berlin Konzerthaus Orchestra under the baton of Ivan Fischer; as a soloist, he has also performed with numerous orchestras, including the Munich Symphony Orchestra and the Düsseldorf Symphony Orchestra.
