Kegel's first Richard Strauss! Don Quixote" and "Death and Transfiguration" with the virtuoso Maurice Gendron Kegel + Leipzig Radio Symphony Orchestra, the golden combination of Kegel and the Leipzig Radio Symphony Orchestra, presents a collection of Richard Strauss masterpieces. Kegel was born in Dresden and has a strong connection with Richard Strauss (he also studied at the Staatskapelle Dresden), but there have been no recordings of his music and not many performances until now. The first appearance of "Don Quixote" with Maurice Jandron, a French virtuoso. Jandron's bright and beautiful tone was used like an actor in the story. Although "Don Quixote" is not very popular in Japan, it is well known as a favorite of master conductors, especially famous German conductors. The story is so universal. It is rare for Kegel to conduct such a title music that seems to be a title music. This is also Jandron's first appearance in the repertoire. On the other hand, "Death and Transfiguration" is a serious performance in the usual Kegel style.The performance is as sharp as a razor's edge, giving it an unapproachable air.
