Mark Steinbach, American organist and college organist at Brown University This album was recorded in 2022, when he traveled to France to find the best organ for recording Messiaen's first important organ cycle, The Nativity of the Lord, playing a Cavaillé-Coll organ he found in the church of Saint-François de Sallée in Lyon. This instrument has almost the same size and features as the Cavailles-Coll organ that Messiaen played in the Trinité Church in Paris in the 1930s, and you can enjoy the same sound as when "The Nativity of the Lord" was first performed in 1936 on the SACD hybrid disc with 5.1ch surround sound.
