Peter van de Velde, organist emeritus of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Antwerp, who has recorded rare organ works by Guy Weitz (AE11091) and Joseph Karatz (AE11151), plays "Symphony in D minor" and other César Franck's Organ Transcriptions. The instrument used is the historical organ of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Antwerp, built in 1891 by the renowned Belgian organ builder Pierre Siven.Expect the French Symphonic Organ Works and their excellent recordings, which sound magnificent on one of Belgium's largest symphonic organs! The organ transcription of the Symphony in D minor is by Slovakian-born, Belgian conductor, composer, and organist Jahn Valaf (1925-2019), and this album is dedicated to his memory. Tokyo M-Plus
