Bach's Last Disciple Mütter's Organ WorksComplete works of Mütter's fantasies played by Leon Berben, the Dutch virtuoso who was Leonhardt's last disciple and won the Diapason d'Or for his complete Sverink keyboard works (AE-11021/6CD+Bonus CD). Johann Gottfried Mutel (1728-1788) was the last known pupil of J.S. Bach, a composer who also served as organist of the Riga Church. Although his remaining works are few, he is an important representative of North German keyboard music of the time. The SACD surround sound of Aeolus, known for its excellent recordings, and the magnificent sound of the organ (FranciscusVolckland 1729/Ernst FriedrichHesse 1823) built in St. Lucas Church in Mühlberg are also noteworthy.
