The sound of the "Kravizitelium" in the collection of the Germanic National MuseumThe "Kravizitelium" is a type of vertical (upright) harpsichord with the strings and soundboard standing vertically. Although it never became a mainstream instrument, the oldest surviving examples date from the 15th century, and it continued to be produced sporadically thereafter. This is the first recording using a rare Clavizitellium (maker unknown, circa 1620 Germany) in the collection of the Germanisches Nationalmuseum in Nuremberg. Performed by Bernhard Klapprodt, a student of Bob van Asperen and an expert in historical instruments who currently teaches harpsichord and ancient keyboard instruments and ancient music at the Franz Liszt University of Music in Weimar. Enjoy the strange and unique sound of the Clavizitellium, which has a very complex action because the jack does not return automatically due to its verticality, with a special repertoire from the 16th and 17th centuries.
