Description:
The works of Johann Adolph Hasse (1680-1750) and other composers of his time are collected, alternating between ensemble pieces and arias. Georg Reuter (1708-1772) is known for discovering Haydn as a boy and leading him to Vienna. Giuseppe Polzile (1680-1750) was a composer born in Naples who worked in Barcelona from 1708, then in Vienna from 1713. Hasse held him in high esteem. Paolo Scalabrini (1719-1806) was an Italian composer active in Copenhagen, Denmark. The Sinfonia in G minor was published and popularized in Paris under Hasse's name. Philipp Matman, who sings the aria, is a young German countertenor. Here he covers up to the soprano register. Capella Jenensis is a baroque ensemble formed in 2014. It is based in Jena. Tobu Landesysteme.
