This interesting CD mixes English songs by Renaissance and Baroque composers with modern and contemporary composers, many of which are based on the same poem, as can be seen from the titles of the songs. As you can see from the names of the songs, many of them are based on the same poems, and it is clear that modern English songs draw heavily on the English Baroque musical tradition.
