Religious Choral Works—Lager, Bach, Neustedt A CD featuring young German conductor Florian Helgart conducting the MDR Radio Choir of Leipzig. 2016 marked the 100th anniversary of Max Reger’s death, and this album centers on his Collection of Sacred Choral Works, Op. 110. These three motets, written between 1909 and 1912, are all unaccompanied. The first two, composed for eight parts, are outstanding for their depth and tranquility. Knut Nystedt [1915–2014] was a Norwegian composer and choral conductor. “Immortal Bach” is a work based on Bach’s “Come, Sweet Death,” BWV 478.
