Heaven and Earth: The Music of Antonio Scandello Scandello was born in Bergamo, Italy, and served as court Kapellmeister in Dresden from his thirties onward, remaining active there for the rest of his life. In music history, he is regarded as a composer who bridged the traditions of Italian music and Dresden. On this disc, the lovely melodies of the soprano and tenor are beautifully complemented by an ensemble of Renaissance violins and viols. A graceful collection of late Renaissance songs.
