A Collection of Works for Horn and Choir by Kent Nagano’s Trusted Colleagues The Munich Opera Horns’ Brilliant Virtuosity! An album featuring a collection of works for horn and choir. Conductor Kent Nagano is also an active supporter of young musicians. On this album, Kent Nagano performs with the Audi Youth Choir Academy—with whom he has been collaborating since 2010—and the Munich Opera Horns, a group formed from the horn section of the Bavarian State Opera, where he served as music director until 2013. The concept behind this album is to let listeners enjoy the beautiful sound of the horn and chorus. The horn is characterized by a soft tone that blends well with other instruments, and its sound is similar to the human voice; however, works featuring the horn and chorus are surprisingly rare, and opportunities to perform them are limited. Therefore, in addition to works by Brahms, Schumann, Schubert, and Stravinsky, two operatic works—Wagner’s *Parsifal* and R. Strauss’s *Der Rosenkavalier*—have been arranged for choir and ten horns, and are performed with the vivid and highly skilled artistry of the Munich Opera Horns. King International
