Arundos Woodwind Quintet releases second album "SAGA The Arndes Woodwind Quintet, founded in 2013 by five up-and-coming musicians who studied at the Cologne College of Music and the Rhine Deutsche Oper, is releasing its second album, "SAGA"! The group is a German woodwind quintet based in North Rhine-Westphalia. The quintet has captivated audiences with its dynamic and engaging ensemble. Their playing "speaks strongly to the heart, with witty expressiveness, individual perfection, and a sensuous presentation that all come together in one large slab." (West German Allgemeine Newspaper), and is highly acclaimed not only for his high performance technique but also for his rich expressiveness. The woodwind quintet has won numerous international competitions, including the Anton Garcia Abril International Chamber Music Competition (2014) and the Castilla y León International Chamber Music Competition (2015), and is made up of talented members. The theme of this album "SAGA" is to express imaginative soundscapes, and includes works by four composers.The group expresses the colors of a bygone ideal in Debussy's "Petite Suite" and the playful spirit of Nilsen's woodwind quintet. Lalo Schifrin's "New Orleans" is an important repertoire that the group has been performing for many years. And the woodwind quintet commissioned by the American composer Kevin Beavers, for which the group is committed to performing new works in the woodwind quintet repertoire, has now been recorded worldwide.
