Marc Coppey, a talented cellist with a reputation for careful music-making, has recorded Beethoven's complete works for cello and piano live. Coppey was born in Strasbourg. After studying at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris, he won the first prize at the J.S. Bach International Competition at the age of 18, which brought him to the attention of the world. His subsequent career has been spectacular, and he has performed as a soloist with conductors such as Inbal, Clivine, Gilbert, and Yutaka Sado. As a chamber musician, he has earned the trust of Piris, Belov, Dumay, Mullova, Payu, and others. As a member of the Isay String Quartet (1995-2000), he has made numerous recordings, and as of 2018 he is teaching at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris and further expanding his activities as artistic director of the Zagreb Soloists Ensemble, where he has performed the Haydn & C.P.E Bach He received high acclaim for his Haydn & C.P.E.
