Description:
The Balkan Chamber Orchestra led by Hisao Yanagisawa recorded Tchaikovsky and Dvořák's Serenades for Strings! The Balkan Chamber Orchestra, founded in 2007 by conductor Hisao Yanagisawa, has recorded Dvořák and Tchaikovsky's Serenades for Strings. Hisao Yanagisawa founded the orchestra in the hope of promoting mutual prosperity among the peoples of the Balkans. In the same year, the orchestra was selected as one of the "100 Most Respected Japanese in the World" in the Japanese edition of Newsweek. The orchestra has frequently toured Japan, and more than 10 years after its formation, it is expected to continue its activities in the future. Dvořák's Serenade for Strings was written in only 11 days and premiered in 1876 with great success. On the other hand, Tchaikovsky's Serenade for Strings, with its famous first movement, was dedicated to Tchaikovsky's close friend, cellist K.K. Albrecht. Both works are passionate melodies that express the composer's personality. The Balkan Chamber Orchestra led by Hisao Yanagisawa performs them with all their heart. In addition to the excellence of the performance, it is also noteworthy that the recording was made by Audite's owner and tone-meister Lutger Beckenhof. This session recording at Ohga Hall in Karuizawa fully captures the beauty of the string orchestra's sound.
