Description:
Convex", part of Conrad Schnitzler's self-released LP series in the 1980s, is being reissued by Bureau B in a long-awaited reissue. This album has almost no information other than the title on the cover, and the only track titles are "Convex" on one side and "Concav" on the other side on the label. An experimental approach to sound production is employed, using a sample-and-hold generator, and a sound that includes coincidences is developed via synthesizers and sequencers. The style, which stimulates the imagination without demanding a specific interpretation from the listener, is reminiscent of Erik Satie's furniture music or Brian Eno's ambient elements, but is a unique way of expression based on Schnitzler's own experimental spirit. A singular piece in which chance and control, stillness and transparency coexist.
