Description:

Principal harpist of the NDR Elp Philharmonic Anaëlle Touré's second release is a concerto collection! The French-born Anaël Touret, who has been in the spotlight since winning the 19th International Harp Competition in Israel in 2015, has been presenting an increasingly fulfilling harpist's life as the principal harpist of the NDR Elp Philharmonic since 2018. Following her debut solo work "Solo Works of the 20th Century" (ES2085), which was nominated for the 2023 International Classical Music Award (ICMA Award), this second volume features three concerto works. One of the leading harp soloists of her generation, Anaëlle Touré studied with Guilaine Petit-Volta, Nicolas Tullier, Andreas Miltner, and Xavier de Mestre. He has performed with leading orchestras such as the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre de Paris, Bamberg Symphony Orchestra, Estonian Festival Orchestra, and Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as at renowned music festivals and concert halls such as the Lucerne Music Festival, Berlin Philharmonic, and Suntory Hall in Tokyo. He has also been invited to perform at prestigious music festivals and concert halls such as the Lucerne Festival, the Berlin Philharmonic, and Tokyo's Suntory Hall. Since the mid-19th century, the harp has become established as a solo instrument in the concert hall as well as an orchestral accompaniment. This album offers two masterpieces, Debussy's "Sacred and Secular Dances," which refined the modernity of early 20th century French music, and Glière's "Harp Concerto," a vibrant tribute to the Slavic soul and Romanticism, paving the way for a bold reinterpretation of the harp concerto repertoire and a dream The Harp Concerto for Harp and Harp Orchestra, which couples two masterpieces, Glière's "Harp Concerto", a vibrant paean to romanticism, with D'Honagni's "Harp Concerto", an enchanting work of dreamlike texture and dynamic contrasts, illuminating three major works in the harp concerto repertoire.
