Description:
Trumpet player Matthias Hefs studied with Peter Kallensee at the Hamburg University of Music and with Konradin Groth at the Karajan Academy of the Berlin Philharmonic. After serving as principal trumpet of the Hamburg State Opera Orchestra, he became professor of trumpet and chamber music at the Hamburg University of Music in 2000. He has performed with some of Germany's leading orchestras and has received numerous awards and distinctions. One of his activities is the "German Brass," of which he has been an important member since 1985, and for which he has made numerous arrangements. This disc, which focuses on C.P.E. Bach (1714-1788), is a showcase of his great virtuosity, as well as an enjoyment of his arrangements.Including the attractive sound with Kunelt on bassoon and Zeller on harpsichord, this is one of the strongest pieces that you cannot miss if you are a trumpet lover.
