S. Kuiken & La Petite Band's masterpiece on LP! The year 2024 marks the 80th anniversary of Sigiswald Kuiken's birth. To commemorate this occasion, five masterpieces from the ACCENT label will be reissued on LP. The five titles on the ACCENT label are released on LP using DMM cutting (Direct Metal Mastering), which eliminates the need for a lacquer disc process and directly engraves grooves on the mother disc, thus ensuring excellent sound quality. The recording time of about 20 minutes for each side is also ideal. This is Kuiken's second recording of "The Four Seasons," an ambitious work that uses the fantastic "violoncello da spalla" for the low strings. The soloists are replaced for each piece. This is a masterpiece that presents a completely new perspective on the history of "The Four Seasons" recordings, which can be said to be saturated with chamber music. The violoncello da spalla differs from the common cello technique in that it is played on the shoulder, just like a violin. The tone is full and soft, with a delicate sound for a low-stringed instrument. The balance between the bass and melodic parts is also well balanced. King International
