2014 Handel International Music Festival Live Handel's Collection of Anthems for CoronationThe Handel International Music Festival has been a historic music festival since 1920. It has played an important role in making Handel's music rediscovered. This album is a collection of coronation anthems composed for the coronation of King George II at Westminster Abbey in 1727, consisting of four pieces: "Zadok the Priest," "Let Thy Hand be Strong," "Lord, the King Delights in Thy Power," and "My Heart is Full of Beautiful Words. Zadok the Priest," a work with a solemn atmosphere, is always performed at the coronation ceremonies of the King of England. In modern times, it is played in the "UEFA Champions League. It is a gorgeous and sumptuous piece of music, perfect for the ceremony. The performance is light and dashing. The last piece recorded is the oratorio "Esther.Based on the Old Testament, Esther is the story of Esther, a Jewish queen of the king of Persia whose courage saves the Jewish people from annihilation.
