Description:
New recording by La Petite Band led by Sigiswald Kuiken featuring the virtuoso Madoff brothers Telemann's Concerto for Trumpet and Horn with two soloists, Jean-François Madoff and Pierre-Yves Madoff, both period wind instrument virtuosos. La Petite Band's new disc is a collection of Telemann's concertos for trumpet and horn. Sigiswald Kuijken and La Petite Band, world leaders in the performance of ancient instruments according to the specifications of the time of composition, have created an innovative interpretation that reflects their tireless efforts and the latest research findings, not only reliving the music of the time, but also giving it a fresh and exciting feel with the lively and colorful performances of today's virtuoso players. Jean-François Madoff, a natural trumpet virtuoso who has played in ensembles by BCJ, William Christie, Hervé Nicquet, and others. He is a leading figure in the modern revival of the traditional natural trumpet without the use of a vent hole, and boasts outstanding technique. In this album, despite the identical key of D major, the natural trumpet, which has no piston or rotary, does not show the slightest instability in pitch, and he plays with great flexibility and flexibility. He also plays with his brother, Pierre-Yves Madoff, a horn player, and Jean-François also plays horn in the Concerto for Two Horns. Telemann's music, which was popular and accessible at the time, made him one of the most popular and famous composers in Europe in the first half of the 18th century. Telemann was a prolific composer who composed as many as 4,000 pieces in a variety of genres.Telemann also wrote concertos for all the wind instruments that existed at the time, but those with horns as solo instruments include one solo, five for two horns, and one for three horns. And as for the trumpet, surprisingly few, both solo concertos and suites are considered to be one piece. In those days, concertos were called ensemble concertos, referring to works in which the solo instrumental group and the orchestral tutti took turns playing each other. All of Telemann's works are full of neat, flowing charm, with brilliant, sweet melodies from the solo instruments, inventive musical ideas, and the celebratory tones of the trumpet and the gentle, serene horns.
