Bonizzoli, Taddei, Ludwig! The gorgeous "Louisa Miller" from Vienna, conducted by Herreide! The wonderful "Louisa Miller" made her first appearance! Louisa Miller", which was famous only for Rodolfo's aria "On a calm night", suddenly attracted much attention in the 1970s, and was performed in many places, and several recordings appeared. This recording is from the first day of a newly produced production, which the Vienna State Opera took up after a long time. Rodolfo was played by Bonizzoli, who excelled in this role. The 35 year old's fresh voice and passionate singing are extremely appealing. The cast was extravagant, with the great baritone Taddei as Miller, Gaiotti as the Count, and Ludwig as the supporting role of Federica, a role that could only have been played by a Viennese premiere. Soukis, a Lithuanian-born soprano who emigrated to Germany, was widely active in Europe and the United States in the 1970s.In Japan, Erede is known only as a young man, but in German-speaking countries, he is actually known as a master of Italian opera, and here, too, he delivers a superb Verdi with a good balance of intelligence and emotion.
