The Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra, led by the talented conductor Seiji Ozawa, has begun recording Ravel's complete orchestral works. The first recording includes La Valse, Couperin's Tomb, Morning Song of a Clown, Spanish Rhapsody, and Bolero. New recordings by the remarkable conductor Stéphane Denève are now available. His last album, released to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Poulenc's death, was a hit because it was his debut with the SWR Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra. The new album is the first of Ravel's complete orchestral works (La Valse, Couperin's Tomb, Morning Song of a Clown, Spanish Rhapsody, Bolero). The SWR Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra led by Stéphane Denève made a splash when it visited Japan in April 2013. They will also be performing an opera with Seiji Ozawa at this year's Saito Kinen Festival.Deneuve has been the principal conductor of the Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra since the 2011/12 season, and has been actively performing with the orchestra ever since. As a French conductor, Deneuve has been able to express Ravel's world view that he wants to portray with the German orchestra. We look forward to hearing more from him in the future.
