Roth leads the Baden-Baden & Freiburg SWR Symphony Orchestra in the first installment of the Strauss Symphonic Poems Series "Life of Hero" & "Death and Purification. The "Life of Hero" was recorded in two sessions at the Konzerthaus Freiburg on November 7 and 8, 2012, in Freiburg on November 3 and in Baden-Baden on November 4, 2012. The recording of "Life of a Hero," recorded in two sessions at the Konzerthaus Freiburg on November 7 and 8, 2012, was a promising success, as it allowed Lotto the opportunity to concentrate and delve into the interpretation of the performance, examining it in the course of the performances in Freiburg on November 3, Baden-Baden on November 4, Freiburg on November 6, and Dijon, France, on November 9. The results of the performance are very promising.Strauss's symphonic poems, which are the most beautiful of all large orchestral works, have been the mainstay of the orchestra since it was founded in 1946 by the Southwest German Broadcasting Company, and since its first music director, Rothbout, the orchestra has been committed to "the performance of contemporary music" and has traditionally excelled in this repertoire along with Mahler, Schoenberg The orchestra's repertoire has traditionally been its forte, along with Mahler, Schoenberg, Stravinsky, and others, and it seems to have ample experience in this area. The coupling piece, "Death and Purification," was recorded about four months prior to "Life of a Hero. After the recording of "Death and Purification" in June, Lotto performed it together with "Don Juan" at a concert with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra in September 2012, where it was reportedly received with high acclaim.The Strauss Symphonic Poems series, led by the talented Lotto and the SWR Symphony Orchestra Baden-Baden & Freiburg, is scheduled to continue, so keep your eyes peeled for more developments in the future.
