Description:
The saxophone is a relatively new classical instrument, invented in the 19th century, with a rich tone and a wide range of expressive possibilities. Hindemith, the subject of this CD, was fascinated by the saxophone in the 1920s and left works for this instrument. This album explores the relationship between Hindemith's music and the saxophone, including arrangements. The "Sonata for Four Horns" and "Old Friends" are world premiere recordings. Please pay attention to the unique narrative and coloring of the saxophone. The Claire Obscure Saxophone Quartet has devoted itself to classical works for saxophone, and its repertoire is vast. In addition to their original works, the quartet ambitiously arranges piano pieces and string quartets for saxophone to showcase the possibilities of the instrument. King International
