(1) begins with a percussion solo rhythm that is tapped constantly at various tempos, and gradually the colors change like gradations as each instrument blurs into the next. (2) is a difficult piece that will make your tongue wag at the delicate and technical ensemble. The piece is based on a work by Louis Couperin, and a melody with a hint of tonality emerges from time to time.
