Finally a Theremin CD from WERGO. I recommend track 7. At the beginning of the track, when you listen to Dracula's hogegegege, a kind of imitation of laughter, you are already in the world of "Kaibutsu-kun" (monster-kun). Not only Dracula, but also the wolf man, and other monsters (?) that do not appear in the title of the film, all appear in the film. Track 6 is also recommended. Track 6 is also highly recommended, as the two theremins played by the two virtuosos are quite brilliant in their fiery exchanges, but no matter how you listen to them, you can only hear the annoying "squeak" sound of a dentist's treatment. Track 8, "The Invisible City of Kitezh," alludes to a secret Soviet-era satellite city where nuclear tests were conducted. Yusupova herself once lived in Kitezh, and wrote this piece to quell the unforgettable nostalgia she has always felt for this town, which does not even appear on any maps.While there are many CDs of cover performances of classical masterpieces, there are not many CDs of original compositions for theremins. The two theremin players are both accomplished musicians who studied theremin in Moscow. Lydia Kavina, in particular, is a relative (niece) of Dr. Leon Theremin (the leading theremin player who actually appears in the movie "Theremin"), and is a representative theremin player of our time in both lineage and ability.
