A collection of highly listenable orchestral works by a Serbian-born composer that combines contemporary writing and personal background. He has been developing his own compositional activities together with Theodor Kulenzis, Vladimir Jurowski, Ensemble Intercontemporain, and others. This CD contains three large orchestral works that are imbued with the musical and cultural traditions and personal memories of his homeland. The orchestral works, while using exquisite writing techniques, are full of excitement with passionate orchestral treatment, and sometimes sound almost like Arabic scales. This is interesting contemporary music. ABSOLUTIO" is a work that embodies the "simple yet rigorous structure" that characterizes Nikodievich's works. Beginning with floating three chords, the sonata form's remnants spiral in a shimmering pattern, gradually gaining centripetal force. abgesang" was inspired by a poem written by Nikodievich's piano teacher.The poem, written in 1995, describes an autumn cemetery in a symmetrical manner, at a time when the composer's homeland was in the midst of the Yugoslav conflict. da ispravitsja / gebetsraum mit nachtwache" deals with the cultural heritage of his homeland, Serbian Orthodox music and liturgy. Electronic techniques such as reverberation, resonance, and echo are applied to live orchestral music, and sacred songs are folded over one another in an acoustic space reminiscent of a church.
