Rosenmüller's music sung by the beautiful Austrian soprano Feuerzinger, who is now blossoming in the world of ancient music Miriam Feuerzinger is an Austrian soprano of ancient music who made a splash in 2014 when she won the Echo Classics Award for her collection of Graupner cantatas (CHR 77381). Since then, Feuerzinger has continued to garner acclaim as a specialist in German Baroque religious music, recording a collection of religious concertos by Johann Rosenmüller and unknown composers of his time! Johann Rosenmüller (1626-1686) was imprisoned on suspicion of homosexuality after being offered the position of cantor at St. Thomas Church in Leipzig. He was said to be able to "combine Italian 'sensuality' and German 'honesty' in the most harmonious way." Although Rosenmüller was one of the most famous musicians of his time, his music is rarely performed or recorded today, and a beautiful Austrian soprano will restore his music with her graceful voice.The "Les Escapades," a viol ensemble of four female players, plus guest musicians on violin, theorbo, and organ, comprises eight members performing three sonatas with accompaniment of religious concertos.
