Description:
Matija Krečić is a young Slovenian composer. He studied violin and composition at a regional music school in Klagenfurt (Austria), and is now a borderless composer and violinist who has composed music for films and theater productions, and also collaborates with rock bands. This collection reflects his activities as a composer and violinist, and is a collection of light, pop, and accessible works in a classical setting. He is the Slovenian Michael Tork (an American post-minimalist composer). Lenny's Centennial" is dedicated to Leonard Bernstein, whose musical tastes are evident in this work. On the other hand, "Autumn Silence" for duduk (an Armenian folk instrument with double reeds that produces a unique sound like a combination of Hichiriki and saxophone) and string orchestra expresses a quiet lyricism in a slow and relaxed music.
