Popular pianist, Jean-Pierre Como11 songs about the culture and music of Italy and the Mediterranean Sea Jean-Pierre Como is a talented artist based in France. Based in France, Como has played with many talented artists and is now a member of the Steinway Artists. His sensitive and lyrical performances are very popular here in Japan. This album features Walter Ricci's vocals (Italian/Napolitan/English) on 9 of the 11 tracks. 2018's "Infinite" was a one-horn quartet work, and this album is an extension of the previous one, "Express Europe," released in 2015. This work is an extension of "Express Europe" released in 2015, one work earlier. On that work, Como featured HughColtman, who had previously worked with Kyle Eastwood, and Walter Ricci, who is at the heart of this work, and wanted to release a work that, once again, pushed vocals to the forefront.For Como, who has always been centered in Paris, Italy/Mediterranean is not based on real memories/memories, but there is an impatient fragrance present in the performance that is born of a longing for that world. The performance is varied, ranging from a flowing performance that evokes the neatness and sparkling light of chamber music as presented by Enrico Pieranunzi in his EGEA series of works, to a modern Italian pop/rock style, to a piece oozing subtleties of joy, anger, sorrow, and joy, as in the saudade of Brazilian music. The world of the album is diverse, yet all of them have the same aesthetic sense that Como portrays. The instrumental M8 with an accordion is an excellent performance that depicts the lights and shadows of the Mediterranean world, where major and minor melodies intersect.
