Introducing Élisie Bertrand, a talented and beautiful multi-instrumentalist born in 2000! Élisie Bertrand is a female composer born in Toulon, in the south of France, in 2000. Not only is she a composer, but she also holds first-class certifications in violin and piano, and with her actress-like beauty, she is a rising star poised to gain popularity. A prodigy who began studying piano at age 5, violin at age 8, and composition on her own at age 11, she later studied composition under Nicolas Bakri and violin under Roland Dogaillou at the Paris Conservatory, and demonstrated her talent by placing second at the 2019 Ginette Neveu International Competition. This album compiles Bertrand’s chamber music works from her teenage years. In Op. 1, “12 Preludes,” listeners can fully appreciate her piano playing. She also participates as a violinist in the Sonata for Violin and Cello and “Love Letters,” showcasing her talent. The flute piece “Liturgical Impressions,” which clearly bears the influence of Duruflé’s “Requiem,” is a captivating work that is likely to become an important part of her repertoire.
