Dustrac Invites You on A Journey into the Essence of French Art Song Since being discovered by Christie at the 1998 Académie d’Ambronay, Dustrac has enjoyed a wide-ranging career, appearing not only in Baroque opera but also in *Carmen* and operas by Mozart and Rossini, and has even performed in Japan. Now comes an album that invites us into the world of the finest French art songs. Hearing these songs sung in French—with its rich consonants—and performed by her beautiful yet powerful voice is an exquisite experience. This album features works by Lili Boulanger [1893–1918], the sister of Nadia Boulanger, as well as Jacques de la Prière [1888–1969], who taught harmony to Akio Yashiro during his studies at the Paris Conservatory. Pianist Pascal Jourdain is a prodigious talent who studied under Haideschek, Roger Mularo, and others. Having performed with Dustrac for over 20 years, he provides superb piano accompaniment on this disc, never missing even the slightest change in her breathing or tone.
