A Pianist Who Lives Through Literature: Mangi Speaks Fairy Tales Rodolphe Mangi is a pianist born in Paris in 1997. He says that during his teenage years, going to school every morning became a source of dread, so he would leave school in the afternoon to pursue his passions for piano lessons, literature, and even film. Music and stories were a source of hope and the will to live for Mangi. The joy he derived from the movies and ballets his parents took him to see as a child… This album explores all of these elements—joy, fear, sadness, dreams, and play. Following a magnificent overture-like introduction (a paraphrase of *Sleeping Beauty*), the music transports us to a distant, exotic land—a world where mysterious creatures, fairies, and trolls truly existed. Eventually, evil intrudes: the sudden appearance of the wolf from *Little Red Riding Hood*, as depicted in Rachmaninoff’s *Etudes* Op. 39, No. 6, and the fearsome Kaschei emerges, his army dragging us into a dance of hell. The program is woven around a story in which, once the curse is lifted and hope and joy are restored, the time for parting eventually arrives, and the curtain finally falls on a happy note with a pas de deux. This recording not only showcases Mangi’s dazzling virtuosity but also highlights his skill as a storyteller. MIRARE
