Although Schubert wrote only a few works in this orchestration during his lifetime, they are gems, evoking a mystical longing for another world and various episodes. The girls chose an 1857 Brüttner to represent this world. The soundboard has never been replaced since its birth, and the sound of the instrument has remained unchanged for 150 years, making it a precious instrument for the modern age. Its intimate and delicate tone conveys Schubert's musical language in the richest, warmest, and clearest possible way. Natalya Mirshtein, who fell in love with this tone after hearing it once, brings out the best of this instrument and the flavor of the work. Sisters Mariya and Natalya Mirshtein hail from Moscow. Mariya, violin, studied with Grubert and Dumay. Natalya studied piano with her father and Nelson Gernell. Both of them are young students whose future is very promising. (King International)
