He has also studied under Casal, Luisaada, Lifschitz, and Jacques Rouvier. His technique, reminiscent of “the reincarnation of Liszt,” and his intelligent, clear-sighted musical interpretation have earned him high acclaim worldwide. Through his Transcendental Etudes, Liszt raised the bar for piano virtuosity to a level incomparable to anything that had come before—and one that remains unsurpassed even today. Tackling these pieces requires not only technical mastery—without which one stands no chance—but also an understanding of the poetic imagery, landscapes, and literary context that Liszt incorporated into them.
