From “Ondine,” the first piece in *Gaspard de la Nuit*, which demands a delicate and clear tone, the listener is transported to another world. In contrast, in the “Waltz, Elegant and Sentimental,” she performs with great versatility and ease, showcasing Ravel’s unique use of harmonies—which could even be described as cynical—his sharp interpretation of the triple meter, and a subtle air of elegance.
