This CD, which combines the major works *The Rite of Spring* and *Petrushka* with a collection of shorter pieces, is the perfect album to fully savor his music, which caused a sensation in the 20th century. Both *The Rite of Spring* and *Petrushka* are duet piano arrangements of orchestral works originally composed for Russian ballet. The charm of the original works—which unfold magnificently with a large orchestra—is condensed into this performance for two pianos. These are beautiful works in which the ensemble created by the two pianos preserves the original pieces’ unique sense of rhythm and flowing melodies. The Villac sisters’ perfectly synchronized ensemble is simply breathtaking. This young sister duo takes on one of the most challenging pieces in the repertoire for four-hand piano! Lydia and Sanya Bijak are Serbian-born pianists. Although they previously performed as soloists, they formed a duo in 2002. Their debut performance with the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra garnered significant attention, and they have since been active throughout Europe. The Bijak sisters have previously performed in Japan as part of *La Folle Journée* and have been expanding their activities throughout Asia in recent years.
