The album includes the complete “Pictures at an Exhibition,” Mussorgsky’s masterpiece, as well as short pieces by Metner and Taneyev. The performance of “Pictures at an Exhibition” is brimming with youthful vitality and exuberance. The overall tempo is crisp and never drags, and the contrast between forte and piano is striking. The gap between the powerful sounds and the delicate pianissimo that suddenly emerges is simply irresistible. The works by Metner and Taneyev that follow the suite are both beautiful pieces with a rich resonance and lyrical melodies. In Metner’s short piece, also known as the “Sonata of Remembrance,” the listener is drawn in from the very beginning by its melancholic yet sweet melody. This is a masterful performance in which Kadush’s deeply emotive expressiveness shines through to the fullest! David Kadush was born in France in 1985. He performed with I. Perlman (conductor) at Metropolitan Hall at the age of 13 and is a talented young pianist with a long list of competition awards to his credit. He made his recital debut in New York in 2010. He also performed in Japan in June 2011, and he is certainly one of the young artists who will be garnering even more attention in Japan in the future! King International
